A message sent to Ferrari owners and customers said the luxury sports car manufacturers was aware of a data breach and will work hard to rebuild trust.
The message stated that the cybercriminal was able to access a limited number of systems in Ferrari’s IT environment during March 2023.
“As part of this incident, certain data relating to our clients was exposed including names, addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers” said Ferrari CEO, Benedetto Vigna.
The luxury sports car manufacturer ensured that no payment details, bank account numbers or information related to owned or ordered cars were exposed.
In the message that was signed by Vigna, stated: “We would like to take this opportunity to apologise sincerely for this event and rest assured we will do everything in our power to regain your trust.”.
Ferrari’s IT environment has since been reinforced, leaving the company ‘confident in their resilience’.
