My broadband has released breaking news that Johannesburg City Power’s website has been hit by ransomware.

City Power released the update via their Twitter account today.
The attack has left its entire infrastructure immobilised and users of the site, residents of JHB who purchase pre-paid electricity, are unable to add electricity credits.
Herewith the tweet:
City Power has been hit by a virus which has led to a black out to it's IT systems.

The virus has affected our customers' ability to vend, that is buying electricity, upload invoices, or access our website.
